Lamenting Red Robin

This started originally as a celebration piece about the entire DCoU, but then when four out of ten of my points were about RR, this list happened.

A casualty of DC’s Relaunch, Red Robin was my favorite book in my sixteen years of collecting comics. In fact, it was so awesome, Mr. Nicieza, Mr. To, and Mr. McCarthy converted me from a die-hard Dick Grayson fan to a staunch Tim Drake one.

So what does one do when one’s favorite book is cancelled—Mr. N having an outline up to issue 50 and knowing where to go up to issue 100 and with jaw-dropping panels from second-to-not-even-Kyle Rayner artist Mr. To? Lament the top ten aspects that one will miss/never saw/will never see from RR.

“This, coming from Destiny?”

Kainoa glowers, his bright eyes burning against the darkness of natural night. “It’s… complicated. Every event is connected to another and another, and the past is just as important as the present or even future. I won’t damn today for yesterday, Ral.

“Will you?”

Breaking out is hard to do, but then again if it were easy, everyone would be doing it. Oh, wait...

Extracurricular Activities

After watching White Collar commercials, I thought of a USA Network show revolving around Tim’s life as a vigilante and high school student. The working title would be Extracurricular Activities. When the narrator announced the characters, each one would have a snippet. Here’re Dick’s and Tim’s. Dick came off more “animated” than Tim, which was my original intension—just not that type of animated. Tim came off more…Klaus Janson. I also experimented with his hair a little. It's part Dick, part Jason, with a little Superboy (Clark Kent) thrown in there.

Totally working on Bristol now, and the pictures seem to scan cleaner now. XD! Next paycheck—looking at printers!

Current projects: finishing edits on FD#15 and brainstorming Scion Saturdays. Look for the latter later this summer. (Yes, totally on purpose!)
